About SellerGrowthTools.com
SellerGrowthTools exists for one reason: most eBay sellers find out what a sale actually earned them only after the payout lands.
The fees aren’t hidden exactly — they’re just scattered across a dozen help pages, written in language that assumes you already understand them, and different depending on your category, your account type and which country you’re selling in. So people price items on instinct, and then wonder why the margin never looks like it should.
This site is an attempt to fix that. Free calculators that show you the real number before you list, and guides that explain what’s behind it
Who runs this
My name is Muhammad Usman. I work in eCommerce and SEO, handling listings, fee structures and store optimisation for marketplace sellers in the UK and US.
I started writing these guides because I kept answering the same questions. Why did eBay take more than expected? What actually counts against my seller rating? Why can’t I list any more items this month? The official documentation answers each of those with a policy statement, not an explanation.
So each guide here covers three things: what the rule says, what it means in practice, and what to do when it goes wrong.
What’s actually on this site
Right now the focus is eBay, for UK and US sellers.
Free tools — an eBay fee calculator, an ROI and break-even calculator, and an image checker that tells you why eBay rejected a photo before you waste ten minutes on it. No signup, no email, no paid tier. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Guides — around twenty covering fees, shipping, returns, seller performance, account problems, listing optimisation and error codes. They’re long because the short versions already exist and they don’t help anyone.
Etsy and TikTok Shop tools are planned, but they aren’t built yet. I’d rather say that than list things that don’t exist.
How these guides are written
Every guide is checked against eBay’s current documentation before publishing, and revisited when eBay changes something. Where a policy differs between the UK and US, both are stated instead of assuming one applies everywhere.
Where something is genuinely uncertain — a threshold eBay doesn’t publish, a rule applied inconsistently — the guide says so rather than inventing a number. That matters more than it sounds. A lot of eBay advice online states made-up figures with complete confidence, and sellers act on them.
I’m not affiliated with eBay. This is an independent site, and nothing here is official policy. Always confirm anything that affects a pricing decision against your own account.
Who this is for
Someone listing their first item who doesn’t want to lose money on it. A seller shifting a few hundred items a month working out whether a Shop subscription pays for itself. Anyone who’s just been dropped to Below Standard and can’t work out which sales caused it.
